man why does honda have to put the oil filter in the most awkard location.
i go to get mine off, after climbing under my car, which is low as phuck, and i cant get the freaking oil filter off. seems as if the last owner tightened it down like an idiot. any ideas on how to get it off?

I changed my oil a few weeks ago, so i know whatcha mean. Best thing help i can offer is, if you don't already have one, go buy one of the filter wrenchs that - i can't think of the technical terminology - basically it's a universal filter wrench that you slip around it and as you turn, it tightens. And it's toothed for extra grip. You can get 'em at autozone or wherever. Makes it a one handed job (or i guess two if it's that tight). Thnx to the small ass filters and the small amount of turning room (for this thing anyway) it takes some time, but it'll go eventually. Otherwise, just give it some elbow grease =)

hmmm, i never had a problem getting at the thing.
IF all else fails you can just take off the intake manifold. Gives you a good reason to get an aftermarket one, hehe |
