4x4 High light on instead of 4x4 Low
weird occurence... this winter I used the 4x4 feature for the first time on my 2001 sport. I turn the knob to 4x4 Low but the 4x4 High light gets turned on, lol.

Re: 4x4 High light on instead of 4x4 Low
On my 1998 it takes up to a minute before it switches to 4x4 Low. Getting it back to Auto or 4x4 High takes even longer.

My explorer 2001 is the first 4x4 I've ever had. I couldn't figure how to engage 4x4 low untill my father-in-law explaind it must be completly stopped and in N before engaging low. The 4x4high will engage at anytime. Hope this helps I'm new to this forum and this my first post.

Re: 4x4 High light on instead of 4x4 Low
Hey man you may be right, I never tried putting it in neutral. Thanks alot.
Im still not sure what the high and low mean, but it should usually be in low im guessin in winter driving. |

I hope that woked out ok. 4x4high is for regular driving conditions, say just slippery roads or a small amount of snow. You can even drive up to 45mph or so in high. Low is for more off road where you will be going very slow. Most of us will rarely use 4x4low. Have fun with it and be safe.
