OBD test failed
1996 Grand Am Se, 4cyl.
I have a check engine light, so I borrowed and tried two seperate OBD-II testers from the local parts store and neither would not receive any signal from the diagnostic port. I was told there might be a short in the port, does anyone know any way to diagnose the diagnostic port? |

Re: OBD test failed
you could always unscrew the data port and check the wires from the back or even use a jumper wire to run to the scanner and get it to read. Also welcome to AF.

Re: OBD test failed
If that doesn't work, try using some "precision electronics cleaner" (3M) on the port - that open port is easy for dust and dirt to get into and mess up the connectors.
