Can Someone help? I got a 88 Astro and was driving it down the freeway at 70 mph. All of the sudden the check engine light was on and the van was loosing power. I was able to drive about 3 miles until the van completely lost power and died. Could not start up again. The van has been towed to the nearest repair facility (unfortunetly, a dealer), but I think the problem is either the fuel pump (the van cranks but won't start). Any advice would be appreciated- I have to drive another 500 miles to reach my destination!
Thanks. |

Re: 88 Astro
Sounds like it could be one of 100 things. Without the code from the computer it will be really hard to tell.
Fuel pumps are a known common weak point of these vans.
