Question help! PLEASE "97 galant" tran problem not working look for help:(?

Just bought a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant ES automatic.

The guy we bought it from replaced the transmission because as I understand, it wouldn't go into 3rd? now it doesn't work at all.

it goes into park (as it will let the key be removed only in park).
is this in the gear shifter instead of the tranny right?

when I shift it nothing. rpm stay the same and all gears sound the same, including neutral. I'm parked on a small hill and its not coasting anywhere in any gears either.
we did push it in neutral, to get it home. didn't try pushing in any other gear either.

is there any senser, moduals or anything that might not be plug in or hooked up? Or plugged in wrong.
any good site for the sclamatic on transmissions?

could this be another bad trans?????? that needs replaced. found another tranny $300.00 going to pick up next friday BUT would like to try anything in the mean time.

Thanks

still needing help

replaced the transmission stiil not working
We were thinking transaxle control module might not be sensing.
Does anybody know where the transaxle control module is located in a 1997 mitsubishi galant is or any good books on transmissions mitsubishi with a transmission break down of parts?

Re: help! PLEASE "97 galant" tran problem not working look for help:(?

tork was replaced both times.
all the electonic are plugged in (that we know)
we put the original tranny and tork in back in one of the wires was cut and we fixed it.

now it moved but had to be rev it to 2000 rpm. reverse works great. but drive 1 & 2. overdrive on or off really has to be rev 2000 allmost like it has a stall.

it coast in reverse, but not in drive.

it clanks (sounds like a bearing going out of the motor) but it not its coming from the tranny (very unpredictable) most of the time the sound stops if its in neutral really LOUD in park soso in reverse. (loud enough I can hear it when it's in the garage and I'm out side) pretty loud in drive. sound very unrelyable sometime louder sometimes not at all. if it revs up it become more quiet.
Bought a NEW (not junk yard) tork. same thing.
The altinator (generator) light is on and I was wondering if this could affect the tranny because of the electonics?

and idea to try? sensor? I bought a CHILTON automatic tramsmission diagnosis and repair & CHILTON mitsubishi galant/mirage/diamante 1990-00 they don't have a very good break down Any good books?

I love this car and hate to part it out
