About the same as every other car in an accident. They don't have a bad occupant safety record if that's what you're asking.

Yea they hold up pretty good in crash tests. You wont find many of them flipping though unless a crazy driver comes around here and there. If you dont want to flip then lower the car so it grips the road better.

Sorry for such a broad question. I have just been told over and over that Civics don't do good in car accidents, but this has been told to me by car audio enthusiasts, not car enthusiasts

HAAAA, my friends civic sure didnt have much problem doing a kickflip. His Red hybrid civic hatch was lowered about 2 inches. He lent it to his friend for some stupid reason, adn even stupider was the fact that his friend was slightly intoxicated. He was doing prolly around 50 in a 35. It was a 4 lane road divided my a median, 2 lanes on each side. Went around a slight curve and lost controll and then FLIP.... FLIP.. through a small carbin based lifeform known as a sapling or small tree.. FLIP ..BANG up into a light poll. and when I say UP I do mean UP into a light pole. I drove by the next day and there was red paint about 5 -6 feet up on the pole. The poor little tree was uprooted and dying. And the car,, well the car wasnt so much red anymore, shit it wasnt really a car anymore. It was crazy messed up. The kid that was in the car didnt get hurt at all, just like some scrapes and cuts and a crazy headache. If he would have bben wearing his seatbelt he probbaly would have been killed by either the roof that caved in down to the middle of the chair on the driver side, or the stearing wheel. From the looks of the car he must have ended up in the passenger side cus you couldnt fit a pair of socks in the driverside anymore. Peace

That's crazy! Also, out of respect for "Sparq" and forum users who know "Sparq" I changed my user name to "x86".

Man that's insane - But honestly, with the exception of some wicked sports cars (and even them too sometimes) you can get just about any car to flip.... it just takes the right amount of weight distribution upset at the right time.... rock it back and forth a few times to get some lateral momentum, and then spin the wheel, and soon you'll be doin cartwheels.
But Civics do alright... I think that's maybe the second flipped Civic i've ever heard of that wasn't t-boned |

Any recommendations (for everyone) on how to stay on four wheels. I know about lowering your car, using good tires, using strut bars, good braking setup, and ... ?

saftey wise they do good money wise they suck. my friend backed his lifted S10 into a 95 hatch at about 10mph and it totalled the car. I recently got hit and ran in a parking lot and the damage was to the fender and door (pretty minor actually) and the estimate is 1400 bucks. my other complaint is civic dent too easily. but u cant put a price on your life.
