88 S10 4x4 4.3 Swap
I have an 88 s10 2.8 4x4 auto ext cab. I'm swapping in a 4.3 4x4 auto from an 89. Bought the donor rig complete. Anything special to watch out for? Also, what is the stock hp of the 4.3?

Look to see if your donar truck has a posi. If it does you'll probably want to use it.
Other than that it'll probably be an easy but time consuming swap. I understand that all the holes and everything are already there

Thanks. I hadn't thought of the posi rear end. Obviously, I need to make sure the ratios are the same fr & rear. Anything special to watch out for?

just don't get rid of your doner truck until your done. You'll always need some more parts if you do... Plus they are a good referance if you need to look into something.
You sound like your ready, and if you need any advice during the swap either ask on this forum, or just look it up on Google Have fun

Thanks again. I'd heard froma friend that this was a good forum for info, he was right! Actually, I work in a wreckiing yard, but I do Honda & Acura all day long. I've had this truck 10 years, & have done the manifold gaskets, heater core, all the usual stuff you have to do to an S10, but never anything on this scale.......
