1997 Grand Cherokee Limited V-8 4 x 4 automatic
There is a loud Clinking sound from my left front wheel when I am moving slowely in forward or reverse and turning, like when entering of leaving the driveway or a parking space. I looked under there and I can see the axle boot is torn in half and the one on the right front wheel is missing. What is wrong and can a do it yourselfer fix it ???? |

Re: Loud clinking sound from front wheels
Sounds like a bad CV. You will need to replace both sides since both boots are bad/missing. Yes You can do this yourself it's not difficult at all. If you need instructions email me

Re: Loud clinking sound from front wheels
nope. The abs would click when the brake lock up severely (if the abs sensor was loose and you hit the brake you would feel it in the pedal and hear the clicking), but not during turns.
