This is off topic but anyone can help

Ok, here's the thing. 1.)i keep getting these damn pop-ups. 2.)my comp. gets slower everyday. 3.)it's definatly not a new comp. 4.) I can clear everything like the comp came as new and install all my internet stuff (bellsouth, ect) it it's fast as hell and then two weeks down the road it's slow again. I know this forum is to make cars fast and reliable but i know there are many computer literate people out there too to make my comp. fast and reliable, so let me know what i need to do if ya can help, i know a little bit about cars but not shit about comps. except the option button's it gives me to look at.

and running the Disk Defragmenter every few months or so. If you've got 2 hard drives, put most of your files on the second one, so the original isn't filled up. If you don't have a second one, I'd suggest investing in one; they're fairly cheap now. Otherwise, don't fill it up with files.

Re: This is off topic but anyone can help

Yeah if you use the quick restore discs, it will delete your hard drive.
For programs look for: Spy Bot - Search & Destroy, AdAware, Sygate Personal Firewall. The windows firewall should already be installed if you've got XP.
