AV Unit Bypass

Hey All,

I have an 06 Acura RSX, and I just installed the Pioneer AVH-P5000 DVD unit in by myself, the only thing is I didn't know where the emergency brake wire was so the unit thinks it is in drive and I can't even watch dvd even in park. What I want to do is either findout which wire is the parking brake wire, or ultimately bypass the dvd lock on the unit.

Thanks for any advice.

Re: AV Unit Bypass

Hey All, I figured out the by pass for this unit. I just used a toggle switch from RadioShack, have one of the input be the brake wire, and the other a grounded wire. To override the dvd lock, you have to flip the switch on and than off. The only bad thing is that you have to do this everything time you want to watch video. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem with this unit.
