Door Glass weatherstripping?
Hi people, I need to replace all the weatherstripping on both doors, windows and rear quarter windows. This is a 1972 Buick Skylark and while I have no trouble finding numerous sources for the door weatherstripping I am having a hard time locating any of the window channel weatherstripping both inside and outside parts. I do not even know what these parts are called so that may be one of my first problems. I am also having trouble finding any type of diagrams/photos etc, which might show how to remove and install these special weatherstrips.
I am hoping that at least one of you people out there have encountered and solved this problem and have suggestions for a good source of these parts. Thanks, |

I agree; call 1-800 YEARONE and request a catalog. The new one is out and they charge $5.00 to cover shipping and refund it on your first puchase. As for how to instructions, I found a GM assembly manual for my Chevelle that shows all the details of the car, there should be one somewhere for Buicks.

Re: Door Glass weatherstripping?
Thanks to everyone for their replies. I found a 1972 GM Fisher Body manual on ebay but I have not received it yet. I removed both of the door panels from the car so that I could see if I could replace the inside felt stripping but I see that I am in for a rough time because the felt stripping was stapled on to the steel portion of the door panel and I do not see any easy way to remove and replace this item. What were they thinking at the factory? Clearly they had no intention of ever having to replace these parts.

You can replace it! I have seen the felt strips for sale at different auto swap meets. Also if you where to buy door panels they would be held on with small rivets. So if you find new felt,
rivet it back on!
