dash lights wont come on

i have a 89 7mgte i just replaced a bhg. when i tried to start it i came to find out that i had a loose wire on my starter so i reconnected the wire (the smaller wire that was suposed to have a plastic harness aound it, but mine didnt so it shorted out) and when i turn on the ingition switch to start it again all my dash (test lights) will no longer come on... i have checked the cercuit breakers and fuses but im running out of ideas on where to look to reset the lights???
