Talking I am in HEAVEN!!!

Let me start off first by telling you how much I love my Monte.. (well, let me be honest.. it is my mom's car and I drive it.) I have a 95 Z34, and sometimes I just sit and stare at it for like, 10 minutes... Other then a couple minor problems (which, from reading threads on this forum I have discovered are common) it is in perfect condition. It is fully loaded with a tan leather interior, sun roof and spoiler. There is not a spot of rust on the car. There are also only about 117,000 K on it. Not too bad for a 10 year old car, huh? Anyway, I am going to make myself sound really retarded and say how happy I am that there are so many other Monte enthusiasts out there. Everytime I talk about the Monte, people just call it crap and talk about stupid Japanese cars.. Hondas and crap. They are the big thing where I live. Everyone is crazy about souping up their Civics. Well la dee frickin da. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GOOD OL' AMERICAN POWER, PEOPLE!!!

Sorry, it's really late and I am tired and I got really excited when I found this forum

Re: I am in HEAVEN!!!

Got to agree with you......just bought a 2001 MonteCarlo, fully loaded, low mileage, and have become a huge fan of them myself. I am glad there are still people who appreciate an American nameplate on their cars! Nothing wrong with sitting a few minutes and admiring them, either. I have been known to do that myself. And yes, this is a great forum! Many thanks to all who post.

Re: I am in HEAVEN!!!

I have a 1988 SS. I like the rear wheel drive V8 Monte's best.

Re: I am in HEAVEN!!!

Glad to hear you like your wheels. I've been looking to buy a Z34 3.4 Litre but they are hard to find...I think the owners want to keep them. A couple of tips I can suggest is keep an eye on the ball joints...if they are the factory sealed ones BE CAREFUL.They dry out and quite often you won't know until it's too late and $700 later you will when it gives out...pray you're not going too fast. Also...the fuel injectors are questionable....it is hard to find someone to properly test them...the test involves measuring the spray pattern....not exactly the kind of test you can find anywhere. Have a look at some of the other threads here, there is a lot of helpful people when it comes to troubleshooting. One thing I would try and do is add some performance parts...chevy failed horribly in that regard...they should have always had at least a 3.8 litre engine and always had the supercharger as an option, the Monte was known as a muscle car in the 80's....nothing beats the good ol SS from the 80's...true to the Monte name they were!!

I feel the same way. I just traded my 1991 chevy s-10 off on a 99 monte carlo 3.1. My truck had the 4.3 with 160 HP and this car has 160 hp only alot more fun. I love my car even though ive had it only a month. Its winter here so i cant wait untill summer when i can clean it all up.
