Exclamation Free Aveo!!!

On the radio station I listen to out of Kansas City there is a commercial that says if you buy a Suburban, Trailblazer, Tahoe, or 1500 Silverado Crew Cab you get a free aveo, excepet for sales tax. I think its those 4 vehicles, not sure. Nissan did this with '03 Sentras in, I think it was New Jersey.

Re: Free Aveo!!!

They just started doing that here. One dealer is giving you an Aveo for a penny plus transfer fees and doc fees. Another dealer is offering an Aveo or a base Cavalier for a dollar plus transfer and doc fees.

Re: Free Aveo!!!

If the car's free, the truck is probably over priced by about $10,000

Re: Free Aveo!!!

I'm thinking J-Ri is right. Or they may be trying to avoid govt. fines by making their C.A.F.E. (corporate average fuel economy) higher. Buy 1 gas guzzler, get a 35 mpg car to offset the crappy mileage.

Re: Free Aveo!!!

The deal was, you give up the incentive and rebates. The trucks they made you buy had something like 8 grand in rebates and the Aveo had 2 grand I think. the base Aveo was less than ten grand so the dealer actually ended up selling too cars and disguising it as a free giveaway. I would much rather get the truck I wanted and get the rebates, then use the money to buy performance upgrades
