Eighties Contest Entry: Jaguar XJR9-LM
Hello to everybody,
I just discovered today (never too lat....... ) that thre is a contest....I would like to know if it is still possible to go? And also I'm gonna build a car that's already on the list from another entrant, is it OK? If so, I will begin the tread this evening (my time.....) If not, I will agree. Thank you for the answer. See you, Jamme |

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: Jaguar XJR9-LM
Sure, there is still a fair bit of time left and no problem duplicating entries. Sad fact is many entrants will probably not finish in time anyway. I know my entry is looking very unlikely at this stage.
Consider yourself in, now lets see some pics! |

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: Jaguar XJR9-LM
OK, thank you.
So, as I didnt make pictures since the begining of the works, here is a first picture. I will explain what I did.... First of all, I put bare metal on the complete Firewall. I finelly "scratched" the surface with a "Scotch Brite sponge" I began to put somme wiring on it. I decided to remove the electronic box made by Tamiya (on the right), as it is not really correct, and made a new one, with his fitting, from scratch. The fitting is made from brass. I made the electronic box from plasticard and painted it in XF-16 and gave it, what we call in French a "juice". I don't know how to say it in english (sorry....) Here is a closer picture from the electronic box in his fitting, with the two tie down wires in place. ![]() I then put extra wiring on the firewall...and somme details ![]() ![]() ![]() That's it for now. Hope you like it. Greetings, Jamme |

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: Jaguar XJR9-LM
Hello,
Firs of all I want to thank the people posting Here, thank You! For Rob: Yes, now I remember......juice is wash, try to not forget that.....: If Ishould have seen your WIP on the Jag you have made, I should even not have started.......! Stuning work, really! For Sportracer02: Thank You. Here is a little up on the cockpit of the car...... Tamiya seat has the molded belts sanded of.... ![]() I then gave the seat a little bit of texture, using glue applied with a really stiff brush. I also opened all the........openings, where the seat belts go through. Painted the seat mat black and Drybrushed it with oils. See how it looks like.....? ![]() I will put seatbelts later on.... I then engraved the panel on the left of the cockpit. ![]() I now started to put the carbon fiber decals on the interior.... Sorry for the Fuzzy picture, but I think I used to much compression....... Varnished them, after a little passage under the (Tamiya's) Smoke: ![]() I now also fixed the firewall on the cockpit. ![]() So that's all for today. What do you think? Thank you for the comments. Greetings, Jamme |

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: Jaguar XJR9-LM
Hello to everybody,
Thank you for your nice comments. A little UP here..... I sanded most detail from the dashboard, opened the dials (put some plasticard behind. Everything shall be redonne after Carbonisation...... ![]() I finished the wheels ..... The valves where made from electrical wire with SMS washer. The nut is the original Tamiya Nut, made à hole in it and put a piece of Aluminium tubing in it. Not finished yet, need to put the attachment, but that's for later. The Dunlop stickers are the original ones, put a little mat Varnish (Gunze) over the sidewall and then put a "wash" of black pigments (MIG) over the complete wheel ti represent the dust from the brakes.... Here are a few pictures... ![]() ![]() ![]() Voilà, thank you for your interest in this WIP, your comments and critics (I Hope.......!!!!!) If you have any question, please feel free to ask....... Greetings, Jamme |
