Big Brake Kit?

I'm getting tired of replacing my brakes as much as I do so I'm considering upgrading my brake system. Does anyone have any expierence with after-market brake systems? Any good sites I can check out? Thanks....

Re: Big Brake Kit?

You might look into mods done by people who race road courses with Civic's and Crx's

Re: Big Brake Kit?

just use front brake system from a 90 93 teg its the same mounting but 9 in rotors. Have to use 15" or bigger rims after the swap.

Re: Big Brake Kit?

Would Cross drilled rotors make a difference in brake wear?

Re: Big Brake Kit?

Also your problem could also be your master cylinder could be bad or the proportioning valve could also be bad. This can cause your rear brakes not to work right or not at all.

Re: Big Brake Kit?

How is that? there is less contact with the rotor. Or does it just peel of the brake layers? "CrossDrilledRotors"

It really depends on what kind you get. Some will wear more because of the holes in the drilling. and most will warp causing you to wear pads faster and have a awful ride. Over all just use Blanks unless you are really RACING in some aspect (road course not drag)

Yes you can. But you need to make sure you use new bushings in the rear for the year of the car you pull the brakes from. Also make sure you get a rear sway bar. Have had a buddy that did this swap and the alinment was wrong (wore tires bad) until the bushings and sway where added.

Re: Big Brake Kit?

im using a DA integra rear trailing arm setup with the stock ED civic control arms, and it works fine. im also running DA integra front knuckles on stock ED control arms, and havent had any issues with alignment other than getting better caster measurements. i also used energy suspension bushings everywhere including the large trailing arm bushings. so far the brakes are stock DA integra with SS brake lines, DA integra master cylinder and power booster, as well as DA integra proportioning valve

I must say that I hate honda brakes eve that I have TAROX G88 with EBC green stuff pads I keep tearing that shit (the discs are so fucked up after a month that when I brake my stearing wheel is going crazy -shaking), those discs are good for a month and then I must do some work on them (to get them in original shape) and again good for one month...but now we found a solution...if I'll have enough money I'll put on 4pot Porsche caliper + big disc, redo that and put on my car...We'll see in a month or two...but till then this discs will go under machinary on monthlly period
