Post rear suspension strut????

i wanted to put some coilovers in, and the rear strut bolt that goes through the strut and knuckle was rusted. when i went to take it off, it broke inside and the bolt head came off. is it possible w/ maybe some rust remover to beat on the bolt from the other side and get it out???

then i could just slide another bolt in and it'd be good as new.

Take any regular electric drill @6000 RPM or so, whatever, with a good big 1/2 inch bit.

but if you need to replace some shit like that, buy a used one.

Peace y'all, Raph...

heres exactly what i was talking about. the head of the bolt(where the wrench is) twisted and broke off. the rest of the bolt is inside the knuckle and goes through to the other side, out and through a nut on the other side of the strut. i almost pissed myself trying to loosen it. what i want to know is, is that nut welded onto the strut??

i looked on the majestic site and they had a diagram of parts and it looked as if th strut DID have a bolt stuck onto it. if someone could shine some light for me. i want to know what im dealing with 100% before i start breaking and drilling.

thanks for all the help

heres the majestic pic link

So is Number 15 the piece that brock off? or was it the NUT that appears to be stuck to the bottom of the strut that broke?

From what I understand it was the head of bolt #15 that broke off, correct?

exactly. the top of the bolt broke off. and i asked them, the nut IS welded onto the strut, so thats why i couldnt get it off. but i still cant take the bolt out because its stuck going through the knuckle(where it appears to be a huge rubber washer, but i dont know what it is for sure), and then out the other side to a nonremovable nut.

the "rubber piece" im talking about is in the pic too sorta. its where the strut is bolted in, theres like a 1/2in metal ring(part of the knuckle), and inside of that, where the bolt is actually going through is the piece.

im probably gonna end up buying new struts from them, but im just hoping i can salvage the knuckles, cause theyre about $150 each.
