Cool 97 PA water pump

I need to replace the water pump on my 97 3.8L non-turbo. The factory manual does not mention that the power steering pump pulley is in the way of one bolt. Am I correct in thinking if I remove the top bolt from the power steering pump, I can swing it out of the way enough to remove the last bolt on the water pump? It looks like it would work.

Re: 97 PA water pump

I think you will have to take both bolts out of the PS pump to get it out of the way. Its not that hard to do though.

Good luck

Just finished the job today. Turns out I had to take both bolts out to move the p/s pump out of the way far enough to get that last bolt on the water pump. Once you do, the job is not too involved except for the last little bolt under the pulley of the water pump.
