release the tension on the serpentine belt
On a 96 CV (4.6 L) how do you release the tension on the serpentine belt. There is no hole for a breaker bar or a nut that you can put a wrench on. I can't see anything to put a pry bar under either.

Removal and Installation
Rotate drive belt tensioner away from drive belt with a breaker bar installed in the 0.5 inch square hole in drive belt tensioner arm. ( this is just above the pulley) Lift drive belt over generator pulley flange and remove. NOTE: Make sure drive belt is properly installed on each pulley. NOTE: When installing drive belt on pulleys, make sure that all grooves make proper contact with pulleys. To install, position drive belt over pulleys. Make sure that all V grooves make proper contact with pulley as shown.

Well DUH, I went and and looked again and still could not see the hole. Then I reached in and started to search for it and there it was. I was looking back at where it pivots not out at the end where the pulley is.
Thanks way2old, maybe I am also !!!!!!!!!! You know hoe that CRS is. Bob W [FL] |
