cricket noise
the cricket chirps around the cylinders, I think. the chirp is usually constant and only when the engine idles. It's definately coming from the middle top left of the bay.

Either the idler pully, worn belt, or the ac bearing...Use a wooden dowel like a stethescope and you will be able to track it down.

Rplace your throttle body base gasket.
Easy to check.
Base gaskets burn out, only cost $5 With engine running spray carb cleaner moderately at base of throttle body, your idle will pickup and chirp will go away momentarily. Last edited by MAS904; 02-20-2005 at 02:37 PM. |
