[in progress] Toyota Celica...

Hi people, i gave a lot of thinking then i decide to put this 'progress thread' in the forum. i didnt take photos from the beginning. so sory if you people got lost.

Just a brief note, this celica is a Tamiya's one, and im gonna paint it blue. not sure what shades of blue, but after quite a while, metallic blue (ts-54) and mica blue (tamiya's as well, but cant recall the code) are the options. So far, the metallic blue giving me quite an aura.. haha. well, not really... the reason is that the shop that i used to buy my supplies is actually running out of mica blues. so, yea... i have to be happy with what ive got. nevertheless, i've never try metallic blue before. so its kind of a trial for me.

anyway, back to the car. i was thinking to do it box-stock, but then i want to make something different, which is to lower it. cos celica is a sport car, and sport car is no good to sit sky high. need to be lowered. so yea, flick pages and pages in AF, then found this lowering trick without cutting the suspension. what i did is to make a new mounting on the frame for the suspension so they sits higher, thus making the ride lower. had a lot of trouble doin this.... even now. im still thinking of attaching the rear wheels assembly solid. cos what i can do now is that it can be wiggled around.

STOP... CUT THE CRAP OUT!!!! GIMME PICUTRESSS..... yep, pictures. These are all i can get at the time being. more photos will come.

^ Front seats theme.

^ Brakes & suspension layout (note the suspension seat).

^ Wheels & brakes layout. Anodized red caliper.... yummy.

Thats all for now.... but bear with me. im quite a new modeller (doin my 6th car).

Nice work so far. Love the seats & the red on the calipers. Those are the stock wheels right, they are really tiny, dare ya to throw some bigger wheels on it.......!!!

Re: [in progress] Toyota Celica...

hey... cheers for the comments. very very supportive. hehe.

seats, first i sprayed with flat black. but doesnt look 'flat' enough... so i brush paint the middle section flat black acrylic paint. turned out not too bad, brush marks are still visible, but not very obvious. red paddings are (i think) flat red acrylic. paint it quite a lot of layers, tho.

it made me crazy to choose the interior theme. first, i was thinking of some dark grey, but i cant manage anything excep nato grey, so i went back to my earlier (or last resource) plan which is flat/semi-gloss black. here u go, turned up not too bad.

still no progress today... so, hopefully 2moro is better than 2day.

cheers bro.
yep, they are box stock with some modification to 'satisfy' the car's mod. but still retain the tires width to normal. i'll get some more pix of those.
however, i just wanna try first, havent even got any idea whether it will work or not when i start. so i just keep stuff standard.... i dont aim for a very high quality n detail, but just for a practice to lower a kit. and, its not easy...!!!
