1g bov vs greddy type s bov

Ok, Im trying to decide on which bov to get. I know with the 1g bov, I can crush it(someone explain this please) but greddy type s is very popular for some reason. Difference in price is about 70$ depending on the person. On ebay I found a 1g bov for about 50 i think, the greddy is about 120, I just want to know if the greddy type s is that much better.

Re: 1g bov vs greddy type s bov

Crushing the 1g BOV allows it to hold more pressure than it would uncrushed (unless you are running a ton of boost, there is no need to crush it). I would recommend the 1g over the Type-S. Save your $70 and get a boost gauge!

Re: 1g bov vs greddy type s bov

The 1G will hold more boost than your stock T25 can boost safely (15psi). It is cheap, and works. HOWEVER, you will have loads more fun with the GReddy; its an event every time i drive my car, and the blow off nosies are really cool, turn a lot of heads, etc etc. Holds boost just as good as the 1g perhaps... so save a little, and get the GReddy, youll love it.

I have the Type-S myself and love it. Wouldn't change it for anything.

Re: 1g bov vs greddy type s bov

i would recommend saving a little longer and get the upper ic pipe at the same time as the bov that way you dont need to adapt your stock plastic flange for the type s to fit and you can just get a uicp thats flanged for the type s. if you want to save a little money ive seen some type s bov's on DSMTrader.com for less then 120. you can probably even get a uicp and type s for about 150-170
