vibration@45
i have a 94 Ranger supercab, 3.0 v-6, 5-speed manual trans. I getting a vibration throuout the whole truck about 45 mph. Tires and whells have been balanced twice. Ball joints on right have been replaced. Alignment checked and adjusted. Still no solution. When truck is takin' out of gear and coasting,, it will still vibrate until speed drops below 40. Any ideas or suggestions? any input would be appreciated. Forgot, the front wheel bearings were replace. Also the U-joints were also replaced.

Sounds like you might have the same problem as I,m having. It sounds like the extension housing seal or bearing has gone out. Stop!!! Do not drive it!!! I too noticed a small Vibration as I got over 40 mph. Within 10 mi. at 70 mph it wouldn't hold gear. I pulled over on the freeway crawled under the truck and found that the extension housing flange had literally blew apart. The driveshaft yoke was just flopping around. The faster I went the worse it got. My problem is is that I can't find a replacement part unless I buy another transmission. Hopefully you don't have to go thru what I am. Just look under the truck/ car where the driveshaft meets the tranny and look for cracks, breaks, or missing pieces of aluminum. Hope this helps Doc |

Re: vibration@45
might b your steady bearing. perhaps a bent or unbalanced driveshaft.
