2000 general questions

couple quick questions. I have a 2000 durango with 5.9 on a five day trial from dealer. wondering if anyone had words of wisdom for me on this or what to look for. has 90000 miles.

noticed bringing it home that at 75 with cruise on the tack would jump about 150 rpms for just a second and would drop back down. would do this every mile or so. was on good flat road outside temp was about 5 degreese f.
also noticed that with cruise on if you take it out of overdrive and then put it back in it wont go back in. all works good if cruise isnt on. any ideas or is this normal. (this is my first dodge).

noticed that there has been some painting done on it. (looks good though) dealer says there is no damage discloser on title. if anybody had carfax could they run this for me 1b4hs28zxyf159965 and post if anything major. ( a little leary, found sticker under hood for ac work done at a body shop in 2001, should have still been under warranty).
any other problems on the 2000 that i should know about. the dealer agreed to fix things i find.
thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry about the tach jumping a little. It's should just be the cruise maintaining your speed. I noticed mine isn't the smoothest cruise system I've ever had but no worries. One thing, See if balljoints have been done yet they don't last long on durangos. It is a recall now so you won't have to pay for it.
