Is that '87 running the 3.0 Mitsubishi V6 or the 3.3 Mopar V6? I'm fuzzy on the year, but the 3.0l was used in later model Daytonas, 3.3l in at least the '91 New Yorker (had one). If it's the 3.0l Mitsu, it should fit in with some work. 3.3l you'd have to measure it and probably fabricate mounts and such. Of course, I remember seeing one locally that had a 318, so with the right amount of work, anything is possible. Good luck with the project.

Re: 87 chry. new y v6 in a 87 daytona

the daytona has the 135 E 2.2L FI TURBO 4 cyl in it right now. Never had the time to realy find out whats wrong with it though. has compression in all 4 and spark. fule system is all new all the way to the intake. but still doesnt run.

the new yorker has a 181 3 3.0L FI v6 and someone slapped a cam and a turb on it and yes I think it is Mitsu-bitchy come to think of it. dont know for sure though.

Another question? Are either of these hi-interferiancs engines because the kid who owned the ny'er b4 me blew a headgasket and drove it until the antifreeze ate through the timing belt. I have a full gasket kit and belt for it. Just like to know if it's gona be wourth my time.

The Mitsu is the same motor used in later Daytonas, so it shouldn't be a problem shoe-horning it in. As to your other question, the only 3.0l Mitsu I've ever had was in a Caravan, and the seals went bad. Sold it. I don't think the 2.2 is a high-interferance engine, but I'm not sure. My memory is getting bad in my old age.
