Transmission Whinning???

I have a 1992 Grand Prix LE 3.1L...i bought the car wen i had about 186000KM now its at 208000KM, and about 2 months ago its been making a whinning noise...it doesnt make a whinning noise wen its cold, but say ive been driving for about 20 minutes and everythings warmed up, then i starts making the noise, not loud, but its still there...at first i thought i was the engine, but thats not the case. i think its coming from the transmission. Now heres the thing, nothings wrong with it. It shifts fine anytime, downshifts when it needs to and accelerates like it always does, just now for the past 2 months its making the whinning noise.. the fluid is topped off, and its not leaking any fluid, so i have no idea wats the cause of the noise. If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it... my emails [email protected] thanx

Re: Transmission Whinning???

Sounds like the front pump in the transmission is going bad.

Mine started whinning about 2 months ago. It did it only when it was about to shift at first then started doing it all the time. Took it to the dealer and they tore it down and said it needed to be replaced. Metal shavings throughout. It was under warranty and the put a GM rebuilt in. Well now its whinning again and its a constant whine and sound different. I think its normal the way it is now but if it gets worse I'll take it back.
