My intake read!

I put my matrix intake into my car today from 3sx. I heard allot of good things about these guys and was expecting an excelent product. I go to put the adapter onto my mass air flow sensor and it doesnt even fit right. I spent the next hour in the shop gringing little by little with a dremel. It went on and works well. I didnt notice to much difference in performance but it sure sounds cool. Thought Id share. P.S. how do i put a picture of my stealth on a thread?

That's kinda weird....shouldn't it fit perfectly? Especially since 3sx is selling it!?!

Re: My intake read!

did you guys think you'd get a 10hp increase from a freakin' matrix filter? don't know what your smokin, but an intake won't net you much, if any, hp increase. its just really a supporting mod for other upgrades. it will, however, allow your engine to breath easier in the upper rpm range. as far as fitment issues goes...ya, the sway bars i got from 3sx didn't fit perfectly...but so what? just take a dremel or a drill bit and grind it out a little. heck it took me 5 minutes to make the holes just a little bigger, then it fit like a glove. don't expect things to go perfect everytime. just b/c a part is made for your car and you bought it, you still need the knowledge, tools, and most of all creativity to modify something if the fit isn't perfect. but also, if the fit isn't perfect, perhaps the product you ordered wasn't right for the application, or perhaps you're not installing it correctly. all these adn many other possibilities factor in when installing a product. its just the facts of life. improvise!
