Cool Forum!
My 96 Sonoma 4.3 has an infrequent coolant leak that has been getting worse; it seems to leak more when its cold (first starting); somewhere in the back of the engine. I can't see anything using a mirror. I removed the hood and still don't see anything. Its dripping off the bellhousing. My guess is it's either an intake gasket or a freeze plug. I don't want to replace the intake gasket if I don't have to. The leak stops when the motor is warm. This truck has been a PITA. I've had to replace the fuel pump and the clutch slave cylinder (twice); not cheap. Any suggestions? |

coolant leak
I had this same problem, coolant leaking from the top of the engine. Turned out to be the head gasket, and I was told all these engines need this replaced around 100,000 miles. Hope this helps..
