alright go ahead and laugh if ya wont

but i play tennis for my high school and sign up will be in about a month or a month and a half......but anyway what i was wondering is, I'm already pretty strong mucsle wise but you cant really see the muscles so me and my doubles partner have decided to run after practice at the track for 1/2 until we get used to it and then work our way up to a mile....so this should help me lose weight.....make my muscles show better.....and make us faster on the court?

alright thanks.....thats what i was thinking.....also is there anyway to get my vertical jump higher......right now its at about 18" i want it around maybe 25 somewhere around in there.

and i started Air Alert II tonight and i have heard good things so maybe it will help some

running will actually do alot for your jumps. I ran cross country and track in high school, and was a runner before that. Anways im only 5"11' and in high school i could dunk.

you should be able to run atleast a mile if you're already playing tennis. i've played for fun before and you have to have decent endurance to play. work your way up to at least 3 miles. if your jogging 3mi shouldn't take you any longer than 30min, and to loose weight you need to get at least 30min of good exercise each day. your jumps will defintely go up when your leg strength does.

Man...finally....someone that actually plays tennis in the place. I thought i was the only one.

Just do suicides on the tennis court. Use one side of the court and just use the lines. Or run some 40s.

yea i can already run a mile but the weathers been bad here for like 3 or 4 months and havent really got to get in good running and dont want to over do it for alil bit........and ive got fairly good endurance this one time i played this guy from our rival school for over 4 hours i thinks in like 80-90 degree weather......it was crazy

yea i know i thought i was the only one too

suicides? please explain. we've never done any drills like that we just have to run around our courts so many times

Suicides are where you run to one line, then run back to the where you started. You then run to a line thats farther than the first and then back to where you started. You do this until you are at the end of the court. Kinda hard to explain... They make you do them in basketball all the time.

Suicides.....yeah it is hard to explain but im gonna try to make this simple.

Its, when you start from a line, then you run straight to another line maybe 10 yards aways. YOu touch that line and run back to where you started. After that, you go back 10 yards farther than the 1st 10 yards, that back to where you started. Then you do it againg doin another 10 more yards.

Man that was hard to explain. Just ask one of the basketball players at your school and they will explain.

This may help a little bit. This is one side of the tennis court. The bottom part is the net and the top part is the baseline. Everything else corresponds to the tennis court so just bare with me here

Let the farthest line on the left stand for #1. The next line is #2. The middle line is #3. The second line to the right is #4 and the farthest line to the right is #5.

Ok...start from line 1 to 2 and go back to 1. Then from #1 go to #3 then go to #1. Then go to #4 then back to 1. Then 5 back to 1. Do this without stopping. Sprint...dont jog it. Touch the lines with your hand or your racket everytime you get to the line. This should take you less than 25 secs. 30 secs tops. Hell....you can probably do this in like 18 secs. Rest like a minute in between then do it again. Do it at the end of practice and do like 3 or even 5 if you really want to push it. This will help you change direction faster, help your stop and go, and will help you run faster.

When I was 15 I was 6'4 and could barely dunk AT ALL. Then I went to a school that offered weight training classes, and I began to do standing leg presses, and the sitting leg presses, and I was doing 360 dunks within a few months. When I started, my vertical was around 20 inches, but I got it up to around 35. Do the leg press for fun. Seriously.
