2006 Charger

http://www.dodge.com/charger/?pid=10...12939057&rid=0

Anyone else seen it yet? I'm just gonna come right out and say it. It's ugly. Its a 4 door passenger car. First Pontiac ruins the GTO name(by means of it being a sport compact now), now this? I'm so glad I chose Ford.

I agree but you gotta admit it looks a lot better than the Magnum. And it is packing 340hp stock so I gotta give Dodge props for that, the only real down side I see to it is the weight. Damn things a tank at 4100lbs.

Look at it this way though. When a 30+ year old car is revived, wouldnt you expect to have some heritage look to it? Kinda like this...

Plus, whats with the truck grill? Its a car!

O I totally agree. Thats been my complaint with the GTO. I think much more time needs to be spent in paying tribute to a vehicles heritage if your gonna bring it back. You gotta admit though its a lot better that that fwd dodge omni piece of crap they came out with in the mid 80's.

Re: Re: 2006 Charger

Dodge is too hung up on their truck grilles... It looks nice on the trucks, but it makes the cars look like crap. Or at least make it less tall, sorta like the viper. Its not too bad on the Charger, but still... its not like you're jeep or BMW or anything. A grille is not a good trademark for dodge. There are innumerable other styling issues that I don't like on that car.
The main problem I had with these cars is.. where is the big mouth? All the old pony cars had short and wide grilles... the camaro:

mustang:

cuda:

gto:

charger:

the last camaro had no 'mouth' whatsoever, the new charger's is almost square, and the gto has the typical pontiac small grille. Ford lost the big grille in the 80s, but has slowly brought it back. Thats one reason why I really like the 2005s. I find that to be such a defining feature of the car, but I have never heard anyone else say it. The 2005's finally have the grille back to the original style.
I'd really like to see a remake of the cuda. Too bad plymouth is dead.

Re: 2006 Charger

yo that new charger wouldn't be too bad if it was two door. use your imagination, two longer doors and a better grill and it would look nice. there must be some production reason for four doors.

Re: 2006 Charger

yeah they definetly killed the charger i don't think 340hp is enough for a car weighing 4100lbs.
