replacing heater core ('96 GOLF GTI VR6)
This is my daughter's car. Coolant is leaking from the inside, passenger side, under the dashboard. I am almost sure that it is coming from the heater core. I did not want to work on it without knowing exactly how it should be done, and knowing that I could risk inflating the airbag. Please help.

Re: replacing heater core ('96 GOLF GTI VR6)
It is a pretty difficult job especially if you haven't done one or seen it apart before. You don't need to go near air bag connecotrs & the battery should be disconnected anyway so hat shouldn't be a problem. I've seen a pdf file where someone coppied a dealer TSB on replacement proceedures on one of my Google searches. It was for an A2 car, but the job is pretty similar to your A3. The only differences are with some of the dash trim panels.
