Exterior Mods
I have a 94 Pearl Yellow SL. What do you all think I should get done to the exterior of my car. i have 5% tint all the way around and the very large moonroof. First off, I dont want a body kit, I love the body style on these things and I have the 94 sl and am in love with the wings on themas well. Some things I have considered:
-Vinyl Graphics (maybe stripes) -Bra (looks good on the yellow) -Grill insert on stock front bumper -of course RIMS -Lowered suspension -Carbon Fiber hood -Black out covers for tail lights -Lambo Doors would look SO good on these cars What would you do? |

Re: Exterior Mods
PM Musashi about springs. he knows quite a lot. i think he said once if the drop is more than 2", then you'll have to get aftermarket adjustable rear control arms to get the wheels into spec b/c the stock control arms will only get the car in spec for a certain range of ride heights. but don't take my word for it, talk to Musashi3000GT.

Yup, its between 2 and 2.2 inches in the back, it will max out the stock camber but only by a small bit. still, its the lowest you can go before 1.having to get adjustable rear arms or 2. get used to Omni Camber in the back and having to get new tires every year. 3SXperformance.com has alot of good spring you can use to lower it.
as far as more mods, have you seen the Bomex front lip? its nice, Nitrogun has one and it looks so freaking sweet. check it out: http://www.andysautosport.com/module...GT&brand=Bomex also the carbon hood would be cool, since you have a moon roof check out the carbon roof cover at 3SX, the stickers I would vote against but it depends on your imagination, If you can come up with something unique and imaginative then yeah. other then that I cant think of much else, these cars are good looking outta the box.

Re: Exterior Mods
Please don't do vinyl unless you really have your heart set on it or a unique design...otherwise it just cheapens the appearance of an already beutiful car.
Also with a bra...once you leave one on there, you might have to leave it on forever if the paint fades... I'd personally go with lambo doors and an electronic dampering kit to lower the car. Or if you could find an appropriate airbag suspension kit, so you could slam the car every so often...that would do well for show.

Re: Exterior Mods
Camber is the description of the angle at which your tire contacts the road...it isn't an object you need to get. With only a 1.3 drop in the back, you probably wont need the new rear control arms...but you definantly will need an alignment after you drop it. Also, remember when you get lowering springs they put more stress on your struts, so you may want to look into getting new aftermarket struts as well.

Well once I buy my VR4 i'm gonna go for this look (if I can figure out how to post it up here)
![]() ![]() That's the hottest 3S i've seen IMO. It's dropped, rim's are OK, i'd get some thin 5 star chrome 19's...but everything else is good. Lambo doors are alright, I used to crave them, but it's not as unique as it used to be anymore. Vinyls are a bit iffy IMO, same as scissor doors, not as unique as it used to be. Putting a bra on would be hideous, but protective. The mesh grille, blackout taillights, and CF hood are all good idea's though. |

Re: Exterior Mods

i would stay away from the carbon fiber hood unless your really looking for some performance. otherwise leave the car the same color

Re: Re: Exterior Mods
I was just searching for 3S pics yesterday and came across it, and was like "holyshit". Some Japanese Import site http://www.japancar.net/cars/models/...i-gto-1996.htm
I didn't look into whether or not they sold the front lip and wing or not...but I sure hope someone does, or i'm gonna have to have it made for me. Oh I just looked and they're cars for sale. |
