Thumbs up

I think it looks good. But I hope the GT-R looks better. With the new Q45 lights. And at least 3.0 liters of displacment.

Yes, let's just hope the GT-R actually looks like a race car since that is part of it's name (GT-Racing). I mean this car looks nice and all, but nothing that spectacular, it even looks like the lexus sc430 taillights are this cars headlights! Oh well, just show me the gt-r? When is that one gonna be shown to us?

Where's the two door??

Wheeerrree's the two door??

Well, I definitely don't like the way the four door model looks like. I hope that the two door looks at least somewhat better. Why refine something that was perfect as is. Still a SKYLINEAHOLIC!!

OK it's 6/18 in Japan now. Matter of fact it's been 6/18 in Japan now for over 25 HOURS!!

Here's my point, Nissan's site has nothing new?! We all already knew about the New Skyline (4dr) being the XVL, nothing new there. We also knew that Nissan is most likely out drining with the Bushes daughters, but there's nothing NEW! More pictures of the car is cool, but no reason WHY they are going with the new design, NO reason WHY there is no longer the trade mark ROUND tail-lights?! and NO word on the fate of the GT-R?!

I DO like the XVL! but is it me or looking at the picture with the 3 cars (pic #1) anyone else think it looks like a Lexus GS brochure?

Thanks for the pictures Igor. Where did you get them and do you have any other info?

still a SKYLINE POWER POWER POWER AHOLIC

ugh i dont like it much, I hope the gt-r will have the round taillights and just be more aggressive in general. But it is a relief to finally see what it looks like.

Rear quarters are too short, front bumper and headlights are ugly, hood has no charachter and whats up with the idiot lights on the dash?
Oh well I heard that the skyline as we know it is having its name changed to just plain Nissan GT-R, hopefully its true because I just cant think of away to improve on the R34. It looks powerful just sitting there. Theres to much research into it to just abandon the platform alltogether.
Don't fix whats already perfect.

Doesn't look bad...but it isn't anything special. I suspect Nissan will make the GT-R something to drool over. I mean, they can't disappoint all the people here in the US wanting one...can they?

"they can't disappoint all the people here in the US wanting one...can they?" Buwahahahahaha Nissan screw up and disappoint?!

Like any other company Nissan can get it wrong. Look at the current choice for the "Skyline" (V35) and tell me if they got it wrong?

I like the XVL, really. Nice car, makes the Altima a very competitive car. Hmm would I like the Altima or Skyline?! Should that even be a choice?! Yes the 4 door Skyline is but a small part of the Legend of past Nissan Skylines, with the GT-R being the lead BIG DOG!

Put it this way if the 4 door Skyline is comparable to the Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry. What does that make the coupe version comparable too?! A Honda Prelude?! Toyota Celica?! VW BeetleWTF?!

So far I have very little hope that Nissan will keep the true spirit of the Skyline GT-R in tact. Even my wife who know's my love of the Skyline finds the "new" V35 to be a sad disapointment. Will Nissan get it right in 6 months and release a true to the legend GT-R that scare's the crap out of traffic ahead? I pray to GOD they do, but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe it is time for a petition?

A) Change the engine to meet US spec's, but leave the body style of the R34.
B) Shoot the jackass that decided to seperate the Skyline and GT-R.
C) Give the designer of the XVL a raise and a bonus to the one who decided to use it for the next Altima, Shoot the jackass that used the XVL body style for the Skyline, thus bringing the Skyline down to the Altima's level.
D) Start over using input from those of us that love the Skyline and not the soulless accountent trying to save every penny.

DON'T SHOOT!! j/k

Sometimes, I feel like taking a drive down the 110 freeway to Torrance and paying the Nissan folks there a visit. I want to grab them by the collars and drag them over to the Toyota building and point out that THIS is the right way to do business.

In the past, many in the U.S. were hurt badly when Nissan didn't regard our pleas and ship their other sports cars overseas. Now, the situation is much more grim, seeing how they may be losing interest in autosports at an international scale. So, they are involved in an economic crisis. What are we, the sports car enthusiasts, to do? Nothing, it seems. Let them build their practical family/cargo haulers. People will buy, and money will be made. Then, Nissan will have the funding to go head-on into the sports/race arena once again.

We are all frustrated and lost. But let's not complain about what Nissan is doing wrong. They simply have other, more important things to do (basically, a matter of life and death for this company). Oh, and let's not lower our standards by allowing the V35 to 'grow on us'. This thing is a disgrace to hold the Skyline's placard. We must keep the last genuine Skylines in mind, hold our breaths and cross our fingers...
