turbo kits

Hey, I need to know of any good turbo systems out there for an '04 SVT focus. I checked Precision, and all they have is for '02 and lower. I really want an HKS or Garrett turbo based kit. Plus it has to be carb legal for Cali. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Re: turbo kits

I know that the RS Focus in Europe has a Garrett in it, so you could try that...the RS does have a Duratec, but it's 2.0L, and it's extremley similar to the Zetec. You could look into that, but beyond that, I really don't have any idea...I also don't know what the differences are between the 02 and above, so that doesn't help...

Im gonna say that all zetec svt foci are the same regardless of the year. If it were me, I would get the kit that turbo tom sells. www.focus-power.com

If it were me, I'd investigate, learn and make my own. Doing it yourself will give you exactly what you want and you can decide on where you want the money going to. Better turbo, intercooler, etc.

You'll can get more power and better results by doing it yourself. And if something goes wrong, you'll understand the system and be able to fix it.
You'll be less likely to be stranded sitting on the roadside. If your willing to do some fabricating and the install, a top of the line system should cost LESS than a purchased kit. A completely custom kit making 250 whp can be built for $4-4500, using a GT28R.

Re: turbo kits

As to beyondloadedSE's statement on the differences between years, the only significant difference that I was told was the computer and electronics. As for the statement from Mustangman25, I would love to get my hands on the turbo that Ford has on the RS, but I wouldn't know where to begin looking for one, plus the RS is different in ways from the SVT, and for fordesigner, I wish I did know more about turbo kits and how to make them, because I could save money that way, but I need one now that can pass smog, I'm really not the patient kind of man. The Precision kit comes with the GT28R and it is less than $4500, with everything. The problem I came across when I contacted the company was that the electronics were different, that's how I found out the year difference. Thanks for the help though guys.

Ok, you do not want the RS turbo. It's rather small. The GT28R will out flow it. I believe it's a upgraded GT17 or GT25R. It's limited to less than 240 hp.

Precession's turbo
I'm not sure what eletronics they are refering to, but I would not buy their tuning. You could easily buy the kit and have a local shop tune it to pass emissions. Focus Sport could easily do the tuning. Contact them, I'm very sure they have worked with one, two or half a dozen.

Re: turbo kits

where is focus sport located? SoCal? I just wish Ford would have put one on the SVT model in the first place, along with an AWD setup.

That would have been nice, but seeing how Americans are too cheap to pay for a car like that, thats why they are only available over in Europe.
