Angry 97 dodge ram 1500

My truck starts fine but once it gets warmed up and you hit the gas my oil pressure drops to zero and the oil light comes on. then when you let off gas to make a stop or slow down truck dies and the oil pressure comes back up also when you let off the gas. it restarts easy after dieing but need to know what is wrong with it any Idea??????

Re: 97 dodge ram 1500

we did a code check on it and it came up with a code 32. Also oil on dip stick has a gas smell to it and seems to be over full now

Gas in Oil

Sound Like you have bad rings. Looks like a engine rebuild will be needed.
Including Heads rebuilds also.

Re: 97 dodge ram 1500

Sounds about rebuild time. The oil pressure could surely indicate worn main and rod bearings. Gas in the oil would be from bad rings and could be thinning the oil enough to cause the loss of oil pressure to be amplified. A basic rebuild kit comes with everything you need to refresh the motor shy of the machining of the cylinder bores.

Re: 97 dodge ram 1500

Code 32 has to do with the EGR system. It might be something as simple as a bad vacuum line, causing a bad vacuum leak. That would explain the stalling.

I'd put a new EGR valve in it, and have the rest of the EGR system checked.
