ok heres the deal...i have a 1993 corrado slc vr6 with a 5sp tranny, everything else is stock...(that i love and dont know how i lived with out it) and i was driving home from school today and all of a sudden the whole car started to sputter. if i looked at the tach, the engine would be revving with out me even touching that gas. if i tried to drive, the car would go, stop, go, stop, really fast, to the way the engine was running. if i pressed on the gas, the car would go faster, but it would still sputter. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO...AND I NEED A GOOD WORKING CAR!!! HELP!!! Thanks!

Re: HELP!! Engine acting wierd
It's 1/4" cloth covered hoses running around the engine compartment, some at the back of the engine, on the drivers side, there are a few running till and from the intake manny, and to the FRP and ECU.
Shouldn't be hard to locate them. |

Re: Re: HELP!! Engine acting wierd
Checking the fuel lines and throttle would be my first thing to do.

Re: HELP!! Engine acting wierd
Actually dont rule out the fuel pump mine did the same thing due to a bad conection to the fuel pump and with a 5 sp trans you tend to jerk when driving alot more = fuel hitting the pump and conections more violetly. its pretty easy to check there is a fuel pump access panel under the carpet in the trunk its the circle with all the hex bolt around it. so if those other suggestions dont work take a look at it.
Btw no new pump was needed just some new connectors and i was off. |
