1999.5 jetta.. very worried

hey guys, im having some trouble with my car..

not too long ago, some guy used the battery in my car to power his compressor to fill up his tire, my car wasnt on at the time..

now, i go to start my car.. it dosent start.. wth

the only thing that comes on is this light on the dash.. looks like some guy sitting with a bubble infront of him?.. hmm..

im worried cauz ive heard horror stories about messin with the battery in your vw.. but.. in this case my battery wasnt even disconnected?

i think the battery is dead maybe?.. there is very little or no power.. should i try to charge it up?.. someone please help..

The man with the bubble in front is probably your airbag light-in which case you should take it somewhere(once you can start it!)to get the light taken off(fault cleared).
Have you checked all the fuses?you should..are there any other lights on,does the battery power anything else-radio?fans?

If someone used your battery to power an air compressor your battery is dead. A new vw battery is about $110. And dont go cheap with some diehard or other battery because they are not as quality as a vw one. Hence the $60 price....

Optima yellow is a totally diff kind of battery. Its a dry cell used for deep cycle and harsh discharge caused from high electrical comsumers (stereo, welders on 4x4 trucks.) It wouldnt hurt but if you're not gonan do those other things just get a standard vw battery
