Car cover?

This is the first winter I've had my own car, and I've decided it sucks really bad. To start out, it's broke down, but I'm getting that fixed in a few weeks. Even if it was fixed, I couldn't drive it right now because of the never-melting ice that's on my driveway. So, I thought "hey, at least it's safe in the driveway," nope, it's not even safe there. I had the car clean, I spent a whole day cleaning, washing, and waxing it really well just before winter, to try to keep it clean. Well, it snowed about 6 inches over the time of a week, and I didn't think it would do too much to the car since it's just snow. The snow made it more dirty than having it sit there for a few months . Seriously, the snow has made it so dirty that I would be embarassed to drive it like it is. It's too cold to wash it too. So, I'm thinking about getting a car cover for it, but my mom has a spoiled cat, and we have two more cats that know their role a little bit better. I figure that if I spend good money on getting a car cover, the cat's will see it as a scratching post, and then I'll have to kill them if they scratch my car. I'm more protective over my car than anything else, so if I pick one, I want it to be a good quality one, and hopefully be cat-deterrant. Anyone have any experiences with car covers that would be useful to someone looking for one? Do you all think the cats would scratch it? Is there anything I can do to keep the cats away from the car (other than scaring them to death every time they get near it)?

I just bought one for winter. Go to http://www.carcoverworld.com
I bought the "Evolution Technalon". I works pretty dang well. The custom-make each one for your car for a good fit. You may want to look at all types to see which one will fit your needs best. Some of them are somewhat expensive too, but, hey, you get what you pay for.
