Looking for exhaust opinions...

Yep, the same question someone asks at least once a week...

I was about ready to pull the trigger on a Greddy Evo, since that's all I could attest to personally, but then I came across another Civic on the road yesterday that had a decent sounding exhaust.

It had an oval canister, not a straight-through design, or barrel-like muffler section. From browsing the web I think it might have been a Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion, but I can't be sure. I've heard Tanabe makes some good, but loud exhausts. I don't want the wake the neighbors exhaust, but perhaps something a little louder than the Greddy EVO. Something like I heard yesterday.

Anyone have any personal experiences with Tanabe, specifically the Hyper Medallion? If so, are you satisfied? How's the sound, performance, etc.

Just looking for some input before I put an order in.

Thanks.

Just cut your muffler off and keep your stock exhaust tubing...

I knew a guy who drove a S14 who used something similar to a dryer hose for his pipe to the exhaust. It rusted so bad he had to change it like every few months. He sold that pos and bought himself a 1988 Porsche 944.

I don't think tanabe hyper was what u heard yesterday. Cuz I'm sure that greddy evo is louder than tanabe hyper.

I have tanabe hyper right now, and I love it!!!
It actually is a very quiet exhaust.
It has a very nice deep tone!!!

Yup, they only have something like 215hp. He's had so many problems with that car it's not even worth it. His idle was so fucked up he spend so much money to replace all these parts in his engine but somehow managed to still have the problem with his idle.
