Clutch hydrolic problem...

Hiya... Ok, Iv got an AE86 that I just got, and the hydrolic system seems to be the only problem on it... But ok... The clutch pedal has absolutaly no resistance besides the return spring. No matter how many times I pump it, I can pump and pump and it doesent get any stiffer. So I checked out the slave cylinder, and its depressed by the clutch fork thing.... that the piston of the slave cylinder pushes out to use the clutch, So then I tried moving this manualy, but It will not move at all. Does anyone know what the problem could be???? (Oh, and there are no leaks.)

mine has a bit of a problem like that..only i have some resistance. i was told a few things...need a new clutch, maybe need the cable tightened so on... but also it may be a bad idea. but if it still lets you shift i wouldnt worry about it to much but i would look into getting it looked at in the future

The SR5 doesent have a clutch cable. If your clutch is very loose, It may have to do with the hydrolic system. My problem is the master cylinder, the piston is frozen in the cylinder. Spring could be broken. But if your clutch pedal is loose, check your hydrolic system, Make sure your fluid resivuar is full, and the first step is always bleeding and refilling the system to try to remove air bubbles. You should always try your best to maintain your clutch, there not exactly my favorite replacement part. (And for me, Because the master cylinder is pretty much dead, the car wont shift at all. So I cant drive it just yet.

Re: Clutch hydrolic problem...

It's an old car. Do your best to replace everything you can with new or at least remanufactured parts so you won't have to worry about it for a while.
