Question Can't open hood! Release cable is broken!

83 Chevy Suburban. The hood release cable broke off somewhere in the engine compartment. How do you open it????

Lay down, slide under, reach up to the latch with a long screwdriver or similar item and click the release. This is an easy one.

to replace the cable go to your local chevy dealer and they can give you one under $50. because i had to do the same thing to my burban

Are you sure the cable is broken? Sometimes if the latch hasn't been oiled in awhile it will stick, when it does this it will feel like the cable is broke. Try pulling the lever then bumping the front corner of the hood with your hand a few times, if it is the latch, it should pop open. If it does just keep it oiled and it should be fine.
