resetting ECU

just to make sure, i warm up the car. take out the 10 amp ECU fuse for a few mins, put it back in and let the car idle for about 10 mins?

Re: resetting ECU

Yea but you can just let it idle for about a min or so, ten is kinda long IMO.

Re: resetting ECU

It may or it may not. Unfortunetly for you, your car is OBDII so some mods screw with the ECU.

Re: resetting ECU

or you can take the negative battery wire off for about 5- 10 minutes then hook it back up and it will reset ... its alot easier i think ...

disconnecting the battery on obdII cars will only erase the volatile RAM memory, however it won't erase non-volatile RAM, ROM, PROM or any DTC's that are stored in the ECU... OBDII setups have two different types of fuel trims, short term and long term even if you do reset the ecu with a scanner the system to an extent is adaptive with it's fuel maps and will eventually go back to where it is right now... out of curiosity what's your air fuel ratio running right now anyways?
