Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
Dissappointed? Why? Do you realize what thid acr is going to be capable of?
BTW: you're wrong The Infiniti GTR is going to be the US version of the Nissan GTR... The Infiniti G35 is the US version of the Nissan V35 Skyline.

Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
The the Infiniti GTR isn't the US version of a Skyline. Skyline doesn't make GTRs ANYWHERE.

Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
Skyline doesn't make anything. Nissan makes them.
The Infiniti GT-R will just be the US version of the Nissan GT-R, unless they decide to offer the GT-R under the Infiniti brand, which will soon be global.

Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
To clarify....
There is no Skyline GTR anymore. No JDM Skyline GTR.....No USDM Skyline GTR. There WILL be a Nissan GTR and it appears that there will be an Infinity GTR..

Oh yea, here we go with the "Nissan rebadged it as an Infiniti in the US so it's not a Nissan" crap again. This is getting old.

Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
You entirely missed my point.....that was NOT it. There is NO Skyline GTR.
There WILL be a Nissan/perhaps Infiniti GTR. There will be no Skyline GTR in Japan either.

Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
what gladhatter is trying to explain is that nissan is separating the skyline and gtr names. if you looked it up, infiniti has already registered the trademark "infiniti GTR". there will be no more "skyline gtr's". the skyline and GTR are now the respective model name of the car i.e. v35 skyline and plain old GTR.

Re: 07 Infinity GT-R
Wasn't there talk about bringing some watered down R34's to North America? Or was that just hear-say?
And regarding the Infinit GTr, I think Nissan is making a bad decission (Sp ) They should just keep the skyline and GTR names together. I mean, wasn't that what it was all about in the good ole days?

I'm aware that they are to be seperated. What I wasn't aware of is that people were still trying to explain that fact so long since Driftking777's post, considering it was explained the very next post by 1viadrft.
Anyways, the news I've been seeing, there may not be a Nissan GTR at all, only Infiniti GTR: http://www.fleetnewsnet.co.uk/news/v...p?art_ID=35640 Quote:
http://www.japancorp.net/Article.Asp?Art_ID=9000 The timing of Infiniti's introduction to Japan and the unveiling of the GTR is perfect. When it comes to introducing the Infiniti name to Japan, what better vehicle to create interest? (plus sales/profits) Appearently, Nissan is realizing the Infiniti/Nissan name differences are already creating issues. (Crappy article, but shows that Nissan is aware of this issue): http://www.autonews.com/news.cms?newsId=11106 This just adds to the reasoning, if the Infiniti name goes to Japan, to have the GTR carry it so it matches the rest of the world. After all, this is supposed to become a world wide performance car. Part of doing that, means it has to have the same name everywhere so it can be well known, without confusion.
