Another purchase

As usual when on holiday I must spend money.
Even though I am not a big fan on these cars, I do respect how well they handle on the road. (my uncle had one for a while, and no, he's not a hairdresser) Besides I believe this kit is OOP. Can anyone confirm this?
I'm planning to keep this kit pretty stock. (I've still got 10 other kits to build) The colour will be British racing green with tan seats, a little lowering and exaust and maybe some wheels. I'm thinking either RS watanabe's or RG's.
This thread my take a while as I have still gotta finish the GT2. I'm a bit of a turtle at building, but I'm in no hurry.

Although........as I look at this pic, the standard rims are growing on me. Besides, it would be the first kit I have built with it's original rims.
What do you guys think?

There are some nice tuner miatas around there was a Japanese tuner that had a really nice miata but I can't remember the name. I think it was on volume 7 bf the best motoring series.

I think you should change the wheels. Watanabes would look cool on there

like this car as well, though looks better as a coupe IMO. not really OOP kit. the mazda version on the other hand is OOP and somewhat hard to come by now a days. not much of a difference, just decals and some slight difference with the rims and it has a LHD dash. as for it's rims... go for the aoshima watanabe looks much better than the fujimi ones.

Re: Another purchase

Everyone is so down on the Miata. Poor thing. It's probably the most capable sports car on the road for under $25k. Hell, if Mazda put some more power (like, I dunno, a rotary) it would be an S2000 killer easy. I see these all the time at Autocrosses and they earn fastest time of the day every time. I want one of these to build into a spec Miata racecar. Thest things are at their best when they are simply done, with a few perfomance tweaks and maybe a little added power - remember, nothing drops track time like some fatter rims and stickier tires. You could just do that and call it a track machine.

Re: Another purchase

People who are knowledgeable know about the miata's potential. I think that more people associate it with a "particular group's" fondness of the car rather than what it actually is (I ain't gonna lie, I was someone who didn't know about it's potential once). Just wait, I'll have my own completed replica that will definitely be a killer piece.

Re: Another purchase

the coolest thing iv seen in a mitia is a 5.0liter mustang motor. the one i say had a built bottom end and racing heads and cam, it also had a 150 of nitrous. the coolest thing is that it looked totally stock expet the mustand bullitt wheels and a VERY quite exhaust system so its a total sleeper. as for its handeling, it sucks now. from all the added weight, it over-steers like a mother.

Ha ha ha. Do I know you Magliano? AUTOMax mag?

Anyways.... I'm surprised of the replies i have got in one night, so I should probably get to work on this car as soon as I get home from holiday. I also have remembered that I have a spare Mazdaspeed nosecone from the GReddy FD3S at home, maybe I could graft that on to the front. Then that no longer makes it a stock kit.
That's me though, gotta make it different.

Thanks for the coments guys.

Probably you don't know me. Or do you know some one in Brazil? hehe

As i said. This car is pretty ugly, but with a few simple changes it can become a pretty amazing car!

Re: Another purchase

You picked a good colour choice for this car; I've seen one or two with this colour combination and they look good. Perhaps a dark colour removes some of the femininity of it.
