Talking E60 545I Sport - Hartge Springs

I wrote a short thread earlier which described my 545I 6speed Sport as a pleasure to drive. But you know us gear heads, you can always have more performance.

Most E60 drivers can probably relate to the floatiness of the new E60. The active suspension seems to be not active enough. At times one may feel like they are driving an old Eldorado.

I have decided to purchase a set of Hartge Springs from a distributor in Michigan. Hartge states that shorter, more rigid springs, will help reduce body roll at higher speeds and also keep the car down during acceleration while lowering the car for a more sport enthused stance. I can't tell you how much of an improvement this will be. I will keep you all posted on the outcome!

I have also spoken with an aftermarket tunning shop here in Chicago who will perform some DINAN upgrades to my car once they are available. Dinan believes that products will be available in the spring. I was on their website www.dinanbmw.com which has been updated for the E60, but does not have prices yet until generally available.

I am interested to hear of other E60 owners that have begun to tune their cars. It is forums like these that allow us to obtain real information. Information from those that have received both good and bad results. Look forward to reading all future posts.

Drive Safe :P
