1998 750 il fuel trim malfunction
any ideas, car runs perfect, but this will screw me on my inspection

I don't really know what you mean by "fuel trim malfunction". Is this an error message in your display? Anyway, appears to point to a problem in the air/fuel mixture. If your 1998 has never had its oxygen sensors replaced that could be it. You should probably have someone read your error codes to help pinpoint the problem though.
For oxygen sensors: -Go to the (hard to navigate) Bosch website and look up the correct sensors for your car. -Then go to ebay and buy the correct ones. Your car needs 4 I believe. -Autozone and others allow you to borrow the special tool to make it a little easier to do it yourself. -Or, take your sensors and find someone who will install them for you. |
