I need someone who knows for sure what needs to be done in order to flat tow a 1997 t-bird without burning up the transmission.

Re: flat towing 1997 T-bird

depends on how far you tow it. driveshaft is the safest bet, but under 50 mph for less than 50 miles should be ok in neutral.

I always wondered, i've seen Jeeps, and mostly small FWD Economy cars being flat towed, do they have to worry about burning up their tranny? I also remember seeing a Z06 being towed, but i cant remember if it was being flat towed, or not.

Keep in mind they may have had a standard transmission.

Jeeps are 4X4 which means that they can put the transfercase in nuetral and have no problems.
