Angry Dumbass street racers!

I live on the corner of busy street and everytime I look up i see sum riced out Civic blasting off at the lights with some fart canned Neon, *shudders*. And somtimes I watch them go down the road (which is 35 speed limit) hitting 70+. Now I have nothing wrong with the lil "acceleration races"; You get up as fast as u can but end up driving normal when u hit the limit or maybe 5 miles after. But this top speed bullshit is ridiculous. All the time I see on the news, "Man dies while street racing and competitor is charged with murder" when will they learn? This is life not a game. This is not NFS or FNF, you cannot defy the laws of physics. If there are any street racers out there pleaze explain to me why do you do it and is it worth it?

p.s. I have alot of respect for racing on closed circuit tracks, so im not race bashing.

Re: Dumbass street racers!

Yeah, it's not safe driving 100+ on residential or even commercial zones with other traffic around. It would be no problem if they raced from 0-60 in a 55 zone, but it's not safe going faster than the rest of traffic.

Try and get their plates and call the police. If you can get it on film even better!

Re: Dumbass street racers!

if i had a track available within a 1 hour drive, i'd be there every weekend. as it is now, i'll occaisionally do a quick race on the freeway at night (never on city streets), but never crack 90. of course, not too many people even want to bother with a 93 Corolla, but i'll admit i do race once in a while.

i agree though...track racing is much better.

Re: Dumbass street racers!

I never, ever street race around people or by homes. I lost my car in an accident, but it wasn't from racing, it was from some moron going 2mph in a 55 zone while turning in front of me. I now drive my motorcycle again, and I normally drive faster on it than in any car. It accellerates faster, brakes faster, turns faster and the only risk I'm taking is for myself and not others.

The best is when a-holes decribe there race on the highway. Example.. Oh, i was doing 65, a mustang flashed his lights at me, so thats a sign to race, i caught up, passed him at 90, he caught up, i was in 4th gear..etc. I HATE THAT GAY ASS SHIT. Seriously, this is BS.

Either do a real 1/4 run on a track, or race on a track. You can have a 4 cyl civic beat a c6 vette on a highway, BECAUSE there will always be car blocking some part of the road-and the vette could be blocked. It's fake, and NOT fair.

There is no way in hell I could ever race a 0-60 run.....I'd have to shut down at the top of second. but when I do run on the street its always on a big ass main street with shops and parkinglots on both sides, never on a ressidential. and I run 0-85 and no higher. or in the highway whenever its empty and I mean EMPTY! I hate punks that will run every nice car they see, in my profession this is called "penis envy". seriously keep it on the track though. I try no to race in the street too much but once in a while you gotta wonder why you pay soooooo much on insurance and payed soooooo much for a 10 year old car if your not gonna use it!

Re: Dumbass street racers!

I've gone street racing with my friends and their boss a couple times. But on on big main streets, no residential streets or crowded highway stuff. a couple times maybe not to smart, my friends boss did like 120 on a service drive, somewhat residential area, street racing. as long as your not going on a residential street or weaving in and out of crowded traffic, i see no problem.
