Re: Sol Exhaust...

I had a hp bolt on exhaust on my old sol and that thing sounded excellent..It actually sounded good and not like a coffee can (folgers) or a weed eater.. Try looking up prices on them..I know greddy also sounds good my brother had that on his old delsol but pricey...

I have an Si and with DC sports headers and a full 2.25 mandrel bent cat back exhaust from a local muffler shop and a borla proXS muffler.
Its really low before 3K then gets a good tone with no tin can sound.
I'm yet to hear it from the outside (inside sounds mean with that intake!)
but all my buds say it sounds dam good! :-)
Total cost with muffler $220. (the 20 was from a tip that i bought and painted flat black (it was also smallish and now i look stock) :-D

Re: Sol Exhaust...

On HT (I think) someone had a video with their greddy evo2 exhaust for the sol and I thought sounded pretty good.

Re: Sol Exhaust...

I'm putting an RS*R exhaust system on my Sol when I finally get around to it. Great product.

Im new to the site i have a 93 del sol with just an apc intimadator pipe on it i got the pipe because it wasnt that expensive but it sounds pretty good it is loud enough to piss off my neighbors coming into my driveway so you could get one if you wanted cheap but i am fixing to put full apex' i catback system (2.25 inch piping) and a sweet looking pipe and have heard the pipe b4 on a prelude and was thourghly impressed.

Re: Sol Exhaust...

good boy. But back on the topic of exhaust, Apex'i is good. And if you can get your hands on a GReddy muffler and then have the pipes custom done you'll be pretty happy as well. I was also pleased with the results of a Silverline muffler I had on my sol for a while. It sounded like the OEM VTEC muffler. Didn't do a lot for power gain, but it was slightly louder/deeper when VTEC engaged. Not sure how it would sound on another car. But then that muffler came off and I went custom. Kind of a secret on how exactly my custom exhaust was done, but from the outside it was a dual exhaust setup, and on paper it gave me a lot more power than any store bought system could have ever hoped to offer. Downsides... it was loud as hell, and it backfired quite a bit. But yeah.. the power was definitely worth it.

Re: Sol Exhaust...

Apex'i Mufflers sound the best. if you want cheap get the pipes bent. If you want durable get the full 92-95 Civic hatchback catback.

I went to a muffler shop and asked the guy how much he would charge me to do a custom 2.25 inch setup and he acted like that was the stupidest idea he ever heard and asked me why on earth i would want to do that. I told him that the better air flow would make a little power. To which he said no it only makes the car louder. I was like WTF and left. but to anser your question you should just get a trubo that is louder than your exhaust.
