Tires and Shocks?

Going to be replacing the tires (all 4 of them), and I am looking for what kind or type of tires to put on them. I mostly care that they match the car and less on whether they'll do 240 MPH down a straightaway. What tires should I look for (Please I have a very tight budget, so I am looking towards Sears mostly, please don't shoot me).

Also since I am going to change the tires, gonna do the shocks also. Is there anything that I should actually look for in a shock/strut. Frankly I hate the ride at the moment (its a little too rough). Mostly used in city street an ocassionally 130 down the LIE.

Any advice is welcome. Beforewarned, I am a car noobie.

2000 Black Camaro V6. 65000 miles.

Re: Tires and Shocks?

well if ur doin 130 ur probably gonna need z rated tires which i dont know if they sell them at sears or not...i dont see a camaro really being able to hold traction w/ out z rated tires i had to come out of my pocket a lil over 400 bucks for four tires, if u dont have the cash right now save for it man i dont know that i would be cutting corners when it comes to tires, i dont have much money either i just had to save for mine every little bit helps

I'm going to look this up but if you can write a link of where I can find that.

I was joking on the 130 part. I never break 80 ( I don't race ).

Re: Tires and Shocks?

well with the torque this put down u still will need a set of decent tires mabey one level below z u might get away w/ as long as its a softer compound...the only shitty part other than cost on my tires is the lifespan they will only last about 30000 miles cause they are so soft
